We're for travellers who want to experience Zanzibar rather than have Zanzibar carefully removed from their holiday. People who understand that the Indian Ocean has tides. That seaweed occasionally washes onto tropical beaches. That weather changes plans. That Jambiani has its own rhythm — and your spreadsheet has remarkably little authority over any of it.

Our favourite guests are curious, independent and reasonably good at looking after themselves.

They respect our team, our business hours and arrangements they've made. They can cope when something happens five minutes later than expected. They don't require midnight concierge service because they suddenly remembered they might want a coconut tomorrow.
